AJ Electrical Partnership Ltd (“AJ Electrical”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
The data controller is AJ Electrical Partnership Ltd, 126a Commercial Street, Maesteg, CF34 9DL, United Kingdom.
Telephone: 01656 339 729
Email: [email protected] or [email protected]
The information we collect
When you complete the enquiry form on our website, we collect:
- your full name
- your phone number
- your email address
- any details you give us about your enquiry
If you contact us by telephone or email, we will hold the information you give us in that conversation. When you visit the website, our hosting and security providers automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, so the site can be delivered securely.
How we use your information
- to respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation
- to arrange, carry out and follow up electrical work you ask us to do
- to keep records of the work we carry out, including certificates and reports we are required to issue
- to keep our website secure and working properly
We will not sell your personal data, and we will not use it to send you marketing without your permission.
Our legal basis
- Taking steps before entering into a contract, and performing a contract: when you ask us for a quote or for work to be carried out.
- Legitimate interests: responding to general enquiries, keeping business records and keeping our website secure.
- Legal obligation: keeping records we are required to keep by law, for example for tax or electrical safety certification.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run our business and website, and only as far as they need it:
- our website hosting and support provider
- our email provider (Microsoft 365), which delivers website enquiries to us
- Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up our website
These providers act on our instructions and are required to keep your data secure. Some may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. If you become a customer, we keep job records, certificates and invoices for as long as needed for legal, tax and insurance purposes, normally up to 6 years after the work is completed.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Our website currently only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work:
- wordpress_test_cookie: checks that your browser accepts cookies. Deleted when you close your browser.
- aj_cookie_consent: remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we do not ask you on every page. Kept for 6 months.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add optional cookies in the future, such as analytics, we will only use them if you click “Accept” on our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or by deleting cookies in your browser settings.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without using cookies. Fonts on our website are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information
- ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation
To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Keeping your information safe
Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
